One CEFR level, multiple ways to improve

A score of <31% 

A1: Beginner (Elementary)

Can understand and use familiar, everyday expressions and very simple sentences, e.g. introducing oneself, asking and answering simple questions (Where do you live? What do you do?).

A score of 31 - 49% 

A2: Beginner (Basic)

Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions (e.g. information about a person, shopping, work). Simple communication in routine tasks is possible.

A score of 50-59%

B1: Lower Intermediate (Good) 

Can understand main points when clear standard language is used. Can talk about familiar topics (work, school, leisure) and handle almost all situations when travelling.

A score of 75-84% 

B2: Intermediate (Solid) 

Can understand complex texts on abstract topics. Is able to communicate spontaneously and fluently to the extent that a normal conversation with native speakers is possible without effort.

A score of 83-88% 

B2(+): Upper Intermediate (Indep.)

Can understand complex and partially implicit content and can express themselves clearly and relatively fluently on more abstract topics. Can argue in a nuanced way, but still makes occasional mistakes and has not yet achieved the full precision of the C1 level.

A score of 89-95 % 

Advanced (Proficient)

Can understand a wide range of complex, longer texts. Can express themselves spontaneously and fluently, using the language flexibly in social and professional life.

Can effortlessly understand practically everything they read or hear. Can summarise information from various written and spoken sources and express themselves spontaneously and precisely.
